Christmas 2019

Yes we are half way through January but I wanted to be able to look back at Christmas this year and see how I decorated everything the year before so I know what to improve on for the up coming Christmas and also I hate keeping all these pictures on my phone so if I can clear space than that’s always a good sign as I take way too many daily pictures of my dog.

So this year I wanted to make sure the home felt more cosy and like a winter wonderland as 2018 was our first year in the home and it wasn’t really our priority to spend loads of money on decorations. So this year I made sure I started the preparation early and around October I started purchasing new tree decorations and I started the hunt for the perfect garland. We brought the Christmas trees the year before but they seemed so bare, we didn’t have many large baubles or unique ones. So my aim was to hunt for unusual white and silver style baubles and I have to say I found my favourite ones from Home Bargains and B&M.

Both years we’ve been in our home we have hosted Christmas for mine and James’ family, so this has meant we need to be prepared and make sure we create a magical Christmas for all of our loved ones. It’s hectic but its so worth it to see the enjoyment that our family get out of it all and also it gives them a break. We enjoy the craziness of preparing and cooking the food and hosting so hopefully this is something we can continue for years to come. Before Christmas we threw a small Christmas party (basically for myself, James and Hugo) and I literally just put all unhealthy food out and we had a feast with Christmas music in the back.

So this was Hugos second Christmas and I genuinely believe he understood what was going on as I have never seen him this excited before. I tried to get him to fit in his last years Christmas jumper but sadly because he’s now one and a half he’s doubled in size so it looked more like a snood, But we made it work! We do treat Hugo like our child so of course he had his own Christmas presents and we are in the middle of January and he’s not ruined them yet which I am very proud about as he destroys everything usually.

Christmas is all about spending time with all of your loved ones, enjoying warm drinks and enjoying those cosy evenings watching movies. I hope that you all had a lovely Christmas and I would love to wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR from all of my family to yours. Let’s all make 2020 an incredible year and one to remember.
