“Paris is always a good idea.” – Audrey Hepburn
As you may have seen the past week, I have been in Paris with my sister (Amber) on our first ever sister trip together alone. We have been dreaming of visiting the wonderful Paris since we were about 7 years old, watching our ultimate favourite movie ‘Passport to Paris’; which if you haven’t seen then advise that you do. It’s a proper old school, cheesy, Ashley and Mary-Kate movie! Since we first ever watched this movie we have dreamt of visiting the city and re creating the movie with our favourite scenes.
While we were visiting Paris, we had to become one of those tourists that walk around with a paper map and is amazed by everything they see. We had to take advantage with every opportunity of whipping that camera out to snap the photos of the land marks. The only thing we didn’t have was a backpack, this was purely because they didn’t go with our outfits we had chosen.
First place to visit, the Arc De Triomphe! We were fortunate enough to be staying in a gorgeous hotel just next to this land mark so everyday we got to see this beautiful historical attraction every morning when we woke up. I recommend you buy a ticket to go up to the top of the Arc De Triomphe……. just a heads up, you have to walk up hundreds of stairs first! This literally killed me and Amber, with my cystic fibrosis and Amber’s asthma, we were literally like 2 old women. As soon as we got to the top we had to stop and use our inhalers and wait for our legs to stop being like jelly. But it’s well worth it to see the spectacular views across Paris from a birds eye view. Plus think of the exercise you’ve done as well.

Moulin Rouge!! What can I say, Other than this is FANTASTIC!!! My amazing parents brought me and Amber tickets to go to the show and its spectacular. Honestly the best memory of Paris has to be this. They truly know how to put on the best show ever. What I thought of the show is absolutely nothing what I actually seen. I don’t want to ruin the show in case anyone has this booked up because the best thing is to go in there and not know anything. But there was roller skates, ponies, snakes and so much more!!! You get treated like royalty when you’re there and you also get given a bottle of champagne (which I never drank). We loved the show that much we decided to buy the programme.

Our next day in Paris and we decided to go to the Louvre to see the good old Mona Lisa. I have to say that I’m not a huge fan of the painting! It’s a lot smaller than I ever thought it was and you have to stand in a crowd like a bunch of sardines to try and get a glimpse of the work of art. Instead Amber dragged me around to look at the Egyptian stuff. We then decided to look for food and we find it so hard to find any vegetarian food and I know I seem to be going on about food a lot but this is a very important part of any day! So because we couldn’t understand half the French menus, we found an American diner which I have to say was bloody gorgeous!! Veggie options and as many milkshakes that you can think of!
Would it even be a trip to Paris without going to visit the good old Eiffel Tower? It’s just one of those attractions in life that you need to tick off your bucket list! One of the most beautiful landmarks to go and visit. Me and Amber were in our element when we came here as we have dreamt of standing in front of the Eiffel Tower with baguettes (Again we are trying to be Ashley and Mary-Kate) Not going to lie, I found the best place to buy baguettes and cakes from.
One issue me and Amber had when we were looking at the Eiffel tower taking pictures….
So I asked a fellow tourist if I take some pictures of her and her husband would she repay the favour and take pictures of us two. Well…. I fully got on the floor and worked all angles and took a good 30 pictures, I was a proper photographer for this couple. Then it was mine and Amber’s turn and we were working these angles for a good two minutes and then we got back to look at the pictures and BOOM!!! One picture taken the whole time!!! I’m sorry for anyone out there who thinks taking one photo is acceptable, But it’s really not. If you ever take photos of someone at any attractions or just in general then make sure you keep pressing the button and take as many pictures as you possibly can in that short amount of time.
I had the best time living the glamorous life for the week with Amber! This was our first proper sisters trip away from our parents. We honestly had the best time from the moment we stepped on the plane. I have laughed so much this week because all we do is quote random movies all the time. Amber also got asked at the check in at the airport if she was Demi…. Sadly she isn’t, but the lady didn’t believe her.
We will throw the dart on the map and see where we are off next on the sister adventure. Stay tuned.
